Psalm 37:4 ‘Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.
A MOST PROPEROUS JOURNEY:
I have been an educator for most of my life. I have worked in the fitness industry, at private colleges, and in both public and private educational institutions. I have also served as a tutor, a personal trainer, and a corporate trainer. Given this background, it is not difficult to understand the journey that has brought me here.
Desire, when separated from reason, often leads to mistakes and disappointment. These are among the most common roadblocks we encounter. However, when desire and purpose are united, fulfillment is often the outcome.
Purpose is often defined as something you are good at—a talent or skill that, usually through the recognition of others, distinguishes you from the crowd. But is that really true? Defining your purpose does not always reveal your deepest desires. More often, it is your desires that point you toward your purpose.
The Psalm above offers a timeless rebuttal to much of our modern philosophy. It calls upon the Lord to reveal our true desires—or to remove those that will ultimately prove unprofitable. We are constantly encouraged to pursue lofty aspirations, often without considering purpose or direction, stumbling through a journey that was never intended to be so difficult. Granted, some will always choose the hardest, most arduous path before them, and perhaps that, too, is their desire.
I have delighted in the Lord throughout my life and have found Him to be a most gracious God—One who delights in shaping, refining, and fulfilling the desires of my heart.
